CNN Focuses on ALS Beginning This Weekend; NBC To Air Documentary on Paralympian with ALS
“House Call with Dr.Sanjay Gupta”
| Dr. Lucie Bruijn, senior vice president of research and development of The ALS Association, is scheduled to appear on “House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta” at 8:30 a.m. ET this Saturday and Sunday, November 8 and November 9. Dr. Bruijn will discuss multiple topics related to ALS, including military veterans with ALS, the International Symposium on ALS/MND in England, and the latest on promising research that could lead to new treatments and a cure and clinical trials. CNN Veterans Day Special
| CNN will begin airing a series of Veterans Day stories as early as this weekend about our nation’s heroes. One of the stories will focus on a military veteran with ALS. According to CNN, on-air stories, which will be repeated, will most likely be shown during “Newsroom” (weekends at 10 p.m., ET, and Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., ET), and during “American Morning” (Monday-Friday, 6 a.m. 9 a.m., ET). Paralympian Gold Medalist with ALS on NBC Sports
Gold Medalist Nick Scandone, PALS and Southern California professional sailor who competed in this summer’s Paralympic Games in Beijing, China, will be among the athletes profiled on Sunday, November 9 in a 90-minute NBC Sports documentary at 2:30 p.m. ET. The NBC Sports Paralympic special features an in-depth look at some of the top U.S. Paralympic athletes as they trained for and competed in the Beijing Paralympic Games. The documentary, narrated by NBC’s Bob Costas, takes viewers on a journey into the lives of eight athletes plus the U.S. Paralympic Men's Wheelchair Basketball Team, with compelling stories of determination. |
